What is Primary Domain?

The primary domain is the domain name your visitors see when they visit your web store.

Here’s how you can set up your primary domain:

• Login to your Shopify admin dashboard
• Click on Online Store –> Domain
• Under Set your primary domain, click on the Primary domain drop-down
• Enter the domain that you want to set as your primary domain
• Make sure you Check the Redirect all traffic to this domain box
• Click on Save

Your store will now show your primary domain to customers

If you’d like to remove your custom domain :

• Login to your Shopify admin dashboard
• Click on Domains
• Under the Manage domains section, click on Delete domain icon next to the domain that you want to remove
• Click on Confirm

Note: These are to manage custom domains added to your store. However, Shopify does not allow you to change your myshopify domain. Once you register for a store with a myshopify domain, for example, abcstore.myshopify.com, you cannot change it on the existing store.

To change your myshopify domain, you will have to create a new Shopify store.
